1790s - 1800 Silk Velvet Waistcoat Vest Stripe Covered Buttons Double Breasted French Sack Linen Back

Incredible 1700s - 1800 French silk velvet waistcoat.

Double breasted with covered and embroidered buttons. The woven silk is in marvellous bright shades of orange /red, yellow, blue and black. Two front pockets. The back is a large weave sack cloth.

Measures: 18 1/2" underarm to underarm, 13" across the shoulders, 18" across the waist, 20" from top of shoulder to hem.

Condition: overall very good but with a few issues to note. The top edge of the right pocket is very worn and has some loose threads. The bottom edge is also very worn with some damage and loose sections of thread. The underarms have some wear and slight discolouration. Buttons are in good order.
