C.1910s French brown wool jacket. Made for theatre or opera costume and stamped inside for the costumier Aristide Boyer, Marseille. Military style and cotton lined. Lightly padded shoulders.two metal hook and eyes fasten the high collar. Four front pockets (top two are faux). Buttons are brass with the monogram NS (or AS) and marked G & Cie' * Paris * that stands for Gourdin et Compagnie. 16 Rue du Cloître St-Honoré PARIS.
Measures: 22 1/2” underarm to underarm, 18” shoulders, 22” sleeves, 27 1/2” long from neck to hem
Condition: great overall. Freshly laundered. There is a small hole midway near the buttons. There is a darned repair near the lower right pocket and another one just above. There is a small hole lower back left.
