1920s French Opera Costume Female Warrior Woman Breast Plates Armour Metal Studs Blue Red Brown

Incredible warrior woman costume. Made around 1920 for French Opera in Marseille. Caramel brown wool body with metal domes studs and breast plates. Hanging cutout shaped fabric from the waist and shoulders. Fastens up one side with metal hook and eyes. The blue and pink sections of the fabric are cotton twill and the red is wool. Slightly quilted and padded interior to give a fuller structured form. Costumer stamps inside and very lovely handwritten script (indecipherable for me) on a label. 

Measures: 19” underarm to underarm, 16” across the shoulders, 27” across the waist area, 23” from neck to hem.

Condition: this has been laundered by hand with warm water and a gentle detergent and then steamed. There are some darned repairs. There are quite a few holes in the red wool sections. There are a few small stains.
