Antique French Opera Costume | c.1910s-1920s Renaissance Revival in Pink & Silver Lamé

A breathtaking early 20th century French theatre or opera costume in the Renaissance style, dating to the 1910s–1920s. Crafted from exquisite pink and silver woven lamé, the fabric is adorned with a scrolling ribbon and floral motif that glimmers under light.

The front features a silver lamé bib insert that fastens with metal poppers. A dramatic wide silver lamé band trims the hem, bordered with a unique ribbon woven in three tones of pink silk, forming a subtle chequered effect—also echoed on the sleeves. A delicate gauzy cotton ruffle collar adds to the theatrical charm.

Fastens at the front with large hook and eye closures. Lined in soft cotton for comfort. Originally designed with long inner sleeves, now removed.
