1920s French Workwear Chore Trousers Pants Grey Check Rare Early Patched

C.1920s French workwear trousers. These are an earlier example than I usually find. Unusual woven checked grey cotton. Striped and checked patch panels. Button fly with metal hook and eye fastening at the waist. Darned repairs most prominently at the crotch and pockets. Cinch back metal buckle. These appear to have been adjusted at the back (very common on workwear trousers) to make smaller. I believe they would have had the fish tail back originally but it’s been made straight.

A very wearable treasure.

Measurements: 30” - 31” waist, 12” rise, 28 1/2” inside leg

Condition: freshly laundered. These have plenty of wear and repairs. A stain on the lower right leg as shown and a unrepaired small hole on the upper right leg.
