1920s Transylvanian Charcoal Black Wool Coat Traditional Folk Clothing Velvet Trim Stitching

C.1920s black wool coat. Traditional folk clothing from Transylvania. Dense woven charcoal black wool which is like a heavy and thick warm blanket. Velvet and stitching trim. Really nice horizontal pockets in the front. 

A natural and handcrafted piece. It’s very wearable but you need to appreciate that it’s a folk piece and it’s quite raw: it doesn’t have a lining and the wool is fairly heavy.

Measures: 20” underarm to underarm, 17” across the shoulders, 30 1/2” sleeves, 38” long from collar to hem. 

Great condition overall. Freshly laundered. The wool has been woven by hand and has some imperfections and small areas of discolouration.
