1930s - 1940s Transylvanian linen shirt with embroidery and cutwork

A beautifully made traditional piece from the 1930s–1940s, crafted from creamy, slubby medium-weight linen with lots of visible hand stitching. Features intricate cutwork and embroidery at the front, collar, cuffs, and hem, all finished with a scalloped edge.

The linen has a slightly textured, irregular weave, giving it a rich, characterful surface. It fastens with small white pressed glass buttons and has a soft gather at the shoulders and back.

Condition

Freshly laundered. Some natural imperfections in the weave. The linen loop on the left cuff is broken but present.
