19th Century French Black silk Jacket Fringing Plaited Ribbon braiding

19th century French black silk jacket. Lovely pointed, shaped collar. Plaited ribbon appliqué trim. Fringing at the hem, at the back and at the edge of the cuffs. Fastens with silk covered wooden button and toggles.

Measures: 21” underarm to underarm, 17” across the shoulders, 8” arm opening at the shoulder, 21” sleeves, 29” long including the fringing

Condition: Held to the light, I can see a few pin holes scattered about. There is discolouration on the braiding on the front where it is light brown and also thought this appliqué which I have tried to show in the photos. Two of the buttons are damaged where the silk covering has worn away.
