19th Century French Silk Velvet Waistcoat Blue Checked Glazed Back Antique

19th century French silk velvet waistcoat. Black with blue geometric check design. Black covered silk buttons. Two front pockets. Brown glazed cotton backing. Cinch back tab with metal buckle.

Measures: 36” chest, 32” waist, 13 1/2” shoulders, 20 1/2” long from neck to hem

Condition: great overall. The inside lining has quite a bit of discolouration. There are two repairs midway of the arm opening where it has split. There are two small holes in the glazed backing near the lower edge. There are some holes and stone repair on the cotton tab.
