Antique Early 1900s French Opera Costume Jacket | Hand-Stitched Wool with Velvet Trim & Brass Buttons | Made in Marseille by Aristide Boyer
A rare and wearable piece of theatrical history. This antique French opera costume jacket dates to the early 1900s, crafted in the style of the early 1800s. Made of wool with rich velvet trim and detailed with original brass buttons, this jacket was created by the renowned costumier Aristide Boyer in Marseille. Fully lined in cotton and entirely hand-stitched, it reflects exquisite craftsmanship from a bygone era.

- Chest (underarm to underarm): 18.5”
- Shoulders: 18” across
- Sleeves: 24”
- Waist: 17” across
- Length (shoulder to hem): 27”
Condition:
Excellent overall for its age and purpose. There are small holes under the left arm, a stitched repair under the right arm, and a few repair stitches on the back and sleeves. Two areas on the front show some light fabric splitting. All flaws are shown in photos. Still fully wearable and a one-off piece.
