Antique French fencing jacket dating to the early 20th century, constructed from heavy linen canvas in a soft natural tone.
Asymmetrical buttoned front with a high stand collar, closing to one side with a series of small cream buttons. Shaped through the body with curved seam lines at the back. Set-in sleeves with subtle gathering at the shoulder and buttoned cuffs.
It retains its original under-strap, designed to pass between the legs and fasten to a small metal buckle at the back.
Interior bears a woven red stamp reading Établissements Favry Armes Escrime Sports, with address details beneath, indicating a specialist Parisian supplier of fencing equipment.
