Antique French 18th Century Needlepoint Slipper Shoes Leather Soles 1770s 1775

Exceptional and rare 1770s French needlepoint slipper shoes. Scrolling motifs on the toes and at the backs. Pink, orange, reds, yellow, greens and blue stitches make these such a delight. Soles and inners are leather. A large ‘L’ marks the left shoe inside. They also have the date 1775 written inside.

Please note: I found these in France and I believe them to be true to the date. From researching shoes of this period and from the date written inside. I very much welcome any information which you believes makes them a different date.

My heart skipped a beat when I found these. They are a true and rare treasure and really great condition. Just some light wear around the edges at the front. One slightly darker patch runs along the left outer side which is hardest noticeable in my opinion. Please check the photos.

Size: Approximately a UK men’s size 10/EU 44 but please check the measurements to be sure is a good fit

Measurements: 12” long, 3 1/4” across the widest toe section.
