Antique French Black Silk Mantle Collar Lace Soutache Ribbon Trim

Antique late 19th century French black silk mantle collar. Unusual with very long hanging front panels. Trimmed with black lace. Braided trim appliqué and also many formes leaf like motifs in little soutache embellishments. A bow at the back.

Great condition. A few of the leg like embellishments have come unstitched at the top of the piece and just need tacking back on. There are no fastenings and there would probably have been a metal hook and eye in the center front. You would need to add something to keep it in place and close it at the front.
