Antique French Breeches Theatre Costume Paris Raw Hem Tan Brown Wool Cropped Pants

Antique late 19th century cropped breeches. Made for theatre costume. The fabric seems like a wool and linen blend. It’s a large fairly loose weave which gives a nice rustic appeal. Button fly. Raw cut hems. Fully lined. Hand stitched including the button holes. It has a hand written name inside and a stamp from the costumier J. Tissier, Montmartre, Paris.

A lovely early piece of Parisian theatre costume.

Measurements: 18” across the waist when laid flat, 16” rise, 33” outside leg

Condition: overall very good. Freshly laundered. There are button holes at the bottom of each leg but the buttons are missing. Both sides of the waist have been taken in and the fabric is still there to let out of you wish. A few little rust marks on the front and some small scuffs. There is a light patch on the back on the waistband.
