Antique French Opera Costume Jacket Purple Wool Green Cotton Sleeves Ribbon Trim Medieval Renaissance

Early 1900s French opera costume jacket. Purple wool body with green textured cotton sleeves. White opaque glass buttons. Lined in cotton with costumier stamp for Aristide Boyer, Marseille. 

A wonderful and wearable treasure.

Measures: 17” underarm to underarm, 16” shoulders, 8 1/2” arm opening from shoulder to underarm, 20 1/2” sleeves, 23”  long from top of the shoulder to hem.

Great condition overall. Freshly laundered. One small hole on the back. A small section at the back near the waist has had some damage and been crudely repaired with black stitches. A couple of the buttons are chipped. There is a rust like mark on the right sleeve.
