Early 1900s French Opera Costume Jacket
A rare and striking piece from the early 20th century, this opera costume jacket was made in Marseille by costumier Aristide Boyer. It features a textured green cotton body with contrasting pinkish-red sleeves, trimmed in purple striped ribbon. Embossed metal buttons with ring backs add ornate detail, and the jacket is fully lined in linen with a stamped maker’s mark. Hand-stitched construction throughout.

Condition:
Great overall. Freshly laundered and clean. There is a slight rust-like stain on the back. There is also a rust-like stain on the lower front and a small hole. All visible in the photos.
