Antique French Opera Costume Jacket Rust Brown Frock Coat Blue Cuffs 18th Century Style

Antique c.1920s made French opera costume in the style of an 18th century frock costume. Rust coloured twill wool with blue then back cuffs. Decorative metal buttons. Linen in cotton twill. This doesn’t fasten: just hangs open at the front. Appears to all be hand stitched.

A wearable treasure! 

Measures: 18” underarm to underarm, 15 1/2” across the shoulders, 21 1/2” sleeves, 27” long from neck to hem

Condition: freshly laundered. There are a few small holes in the wool. A darned repair on the lower right sleeve and one on the upper back near the neck. Some wear and small holes around the hem. These imperfections seem all part of the charm.
