Antique French Theatre Costume 19th Century Military Style Indigo Blue Red Sun Fade Gold Ribbon Trim Brass Buttons

Antique 19th century French theatre costume jacket. Miliary style. Blue Herringbone woven cotton. Red plain cotton with gold metal ribbon trim and brass buttons. As is fairly common with these old opera and theatre costume pieces: the original jacket seems to be older than the period it has the gold trims added to. 

Measurements: 19” underarm to underarm, 16 1/2” shoulders, 7” from shoulder to underarm, 21” sleeves, 27” from neck to longest length at the back, 17 1/2” from neck to waist hem.

Condition: Freshly laundered with cool water a gentle detergent. There is lots of damage to the gold ribbon trim. All the interior buttons are missing. The upper left sleeve has some scuffs and small holes. There is one brass button missing on the cost tail.  Please inspect the photos and ask any questions you have.
