Antique French Theatre Costume Jacket Tunic Child’s Renaissance Style 19th Century Black Silk Velvet

Antique 19th century French costume jacket made for theatre. Child’s size. Black silk velvet. There are inner silk sleeves which are covered with a silk velvet panels fastening with brass buttons. Hand stitched. Lovely hand written piece inside the sleeve. 

Measurements: 14” underarm to underarm, 12” across the shoulders, 29” sleeves, 23” long in the body

Condition: freshly laundered. There are many holes in the linings (body and sleeves). The decorative blue silk bows at the back have damage. Damage and holes rot he inner silk sleeves. Ripped holes in the silk velvet cuff of the left sleeve.
