Antique French Theatre Opera Costume Hose Purple Magenta Wool Slash Renaissance Tudor Shorts Early 1900s

Great pair of early 1900s French Renaissance style hose. Magenta purple wool puff shorts with darker wool slash panel design. Lined in cotton. Button fly. Hand stitched.

A wonderful treasure to wear and display.

Made by Aristide Boyer, Marseille. Costumier stamp in the lining.

Measurements: 38” waist (ties could be added to make the waist smaller), 10” across the leg opening, 14 1/3” rise, 20” long

Condition: freshly laundered and steamed. There are a fair few moth holes which could be darned. Some darn repairs which have been made using noticeable cotton thread which could do with replacing with a matching thread.
