1930s Transylvanian Folk Blouse Shirt Black Glass Buttons Traditional Romanian Linen Eastern European
C1930s Transylvanian folk blouse. Acquired from my travels in the Carpathian Mountains.
Homespun linen. Pleats, folds cutouts and shaped scalloped hem. Black glass buttons: some of which are just decorative. There are crochet inserts running up the front and across the shoulder. A really wonderful example of this style of traditional men’s folk blouse which would have been worn with wide cropped linen trousers.
Measures: 23” underarm to underarm, 9” from shoulder to underarm, 20” sleeves, 15 1/2” across the shoulders, 20” long in the body, 12 1/2” collar
Great condition. Freshly laundered. There are a couple of light yellow stains which maybe rust: not very noticeable and may remove gradually with further washing. The edges of the embroidery on the back of the shoulders and on the cuffs is a little bit frayed. There is a small hole in the back as shown.
Ships internationally.
