1930s Transylvanian Folk Blouse Shirt Black Glass Buttons Traditional Romanian Linen Eastern European

C1930s Transylvanian folk blouse. Acquired from my travels in the Carpathian Mountains. 

Homespun linen. Pleats, folds cutouts and shaped zig-zag edges. Black glass buttons: some of which are just decorative. Crochet trim at the hem. A great trapeze shape with balloon sleeves. A really wonderful example of this style of traditional men’s folk blouse which would have been worn with wide cropped linen trousers. 

Measures: 24” underarm to underarm, 9 1/2” from shoulder to underarm, 21” sleeves, 20 1/2” across the shoulders, 24 1/4”  long in the body, 13 1/2” collar

Great condition. Freshly laundered. light natural wear and small bobble imperfections in the weave. There is one decorative button missing in the neck and two white are broken in half. There is a scattering of very light grey marks on the lower back. These may fade or remove with further washing.
