Antique French Renaissance style hose shorts, opera Theatre costume Magenta Silk Gold Metal Ribbon Trim Early 1900s
Antique early 1900s French Renaissance style hose made for theatre or opera costume. Delicate pink silk base fabric with strips of magenta grosgrain silk panels, trimmed with silver and gold metal ribbon. Button fly and cinch back metal buckle. Fully lined in cotton. Costumier stamp for Aristide Boyer, Marseille in the lining.
The difference of colour in the images is due to the different light conditions. The true colour is closer to the final photo taken flat.
A unique piece of costume history to wear or display and treasure.
