Rare Antique German Indigo Cape Blue White Block Print 1880s 19th Century

Incredible 1880s German indigo block print cape. Absolutely stunning indigo dyed fabric and print. Ruffle collar detail. Fastens with a hooks and eye. Woven wool linen which is much like a blanket and possibly cut from one.

I’ve seen photographs from the period of women wearing these with babies wrapped up amongst the fabric in their arms. So lovely!

Size: fairly free as no shoulder seams

Measures: 43” long

Great condition. Really superb. Just one small hole in the wool lining near the neck.
