Antique French Silk Bodice Pink Cream Silk Lace Chiffon 1900 Boned

Such a beautiful bodice made c.1900 by Aux Villes du Centre, Clermont-Ferrand. Ice-cream coloured pink and cream silk in a very pretty dazzling woven pattern. Chiffon and lace overlays. Boned inside. High collar which fastens with metal hooks.

Measures: 16” underarm to underarm, 12 1/3” shoulders, 12” across the waist, 18” long from neck to hem. 

Condition: good overall. Nice clean condition which appears barely worn. There was a silk lining panel on the inside of the chiffon bib at the front. This shattered and there are tiny remnants and stitches which can be seen inside: Chiffon and lace are in good condition. A Small area of damage to the net lace and beading on the left cuff. Some darker areas at the shoulder areas with slight visible shattered silk beneath the chiffon overlay.
