Vintage 1930s Jacket – Dark Pink Cotton with Appliqué Detail

1930s cotton jacket in dark pink with multicolored geometric appliqué. Fully lined in green and white check cotton. Features squared sleeves and a pointed hood, with visible handwork and a strong nod to folkloric design traditions. A wonderful piece! 

Originally made by costumier Aristide Boyer in Marseille, France for theatrical use. 

Details:

• Outer: Dark pink cotton
• Lining: Green and white check cotton
• Multicolored appliqué on front and sleeves
• Squared sleeves
• Pointed hood
• Open front (no closures)

Measurements (taken flat):

• Underarm to underarm: 39 in / 99 cm
• Shoulder to shoulder: 37.5 in / 95 cm
• Shoulder to underarm: 12.5 in / 32 cm
• Sleeve length (shoulder seam to cuff): 15.5 in / 39.5 cm
• Length (neck to hem): 28 in / 71 cm

Condition:

Freshly laundered.

• One small L-shaped tear on the front right side near the sleeve
• A few small holes in the yellow appliqué sections (as shown)
• One loose fabric piece on the back that needs stitching down
• Light general wear consistent with age
  Overall in very good condition.
