1910s French Opera Costume Crusades Vest Padded Black Red Maltese Cross Theatre

C. 1910s French Opera costume vest. Incredible striking design in a Crusader style. Black wool with appliqué red Maltese cross on the front. Buttons up the back. Padded in the front to create a particular silhouette. Linen lined and stamped with the costumier Aristide Boyer, Marseille. This is a high quality piece of costume. Also includes lovely scripted handwritten pen writing featuring numbers and a name.

Size: small. This is padded on the front and so you need to be smaller than the measurements below. I would estimate it best fits a women’s UK 10 / US 6.

Measures: 20” underarm to underarm, 17” across the waist, 17” across the shoulders, 19 1/3” long in the body

Condition: great overall. Freshly laundered. One area of slight thinning in the black wool at the back and a small hole (probably from moth).
