1920s French Opera Theatre Costume Tunic Peach Silk Green Velvet Gold Sequins Heraldic Crown Dragon Prince

c.1920s French opera or theatre costume tunic. Peach silk and green silk velvet panels. Slash effect sleeve panels with puffed silk fabric poking through. A central crown motif with a dragon. Gold sequins on green velvet sleeves and lower front panels. Woven gold metal ribbon trim. There is a holster of some kind on the left hip. Gauzy cotton collar. The cuffs fasten with a hook and eye and the back fastens with large sturdy silver metal hook and eyes. Lined in grey cotton.

This is a small size and in order to fit nicely you would have to be slightly smaller than the exact waist and chest measurements.

Measures: 18 inches underarm to underarm, 16 inches across the shoulders, 17 1/2 inches from neck to waist 21 inch sleeve length 30 1/2 inches from top of the shoulder to hem, 14 1/2 inches across the waist.


Condition: this has been laundered by hand using cold water and a gentle detergent. There are some missing sequins. There are a few marks which are noticeable in the peach silk areas. Overal very good condition.
