1930s 40s French Two Piece Costume Opera Henri Lebrun Paris Tunic Pink Oyster Tunic Skirt

Incredible two-piece costume made for French opera by the revered Henri Lebrun, Paris. Tunic with skirt. Tunic is silvery grey grosgrain silk panels with black appliqué cording. Pink silk body and sleeves. The sleeves on this are truly amazing! They have inner pink grosgrain sleeves with zips. Mandarin style collar. This fastens up the back with metal poppers.

Tunic measures: 25" underarm to underarm, 21" across the shoulders, 29 long in the body, 48” sleeves

Skirt Measures: 30" waist, 32" long, 46" hips

Condition: this has been washed in cold water with a gentle detergent. There are some marks as shown. There is also a little colour fade on the black, where it appears brown.
The right underarm seam has come unstitched. A couple of very small holes in the pink silk as shown. Some of the appliqué cording is a little loose in small areas or has come unstitched.One metal popper is missing at the back as shown. Please inspect the photos in detail.
