1930s Romanian Linen Smock Shirt Dress Folk Embroidered Traditionel clothing

C.1930s Romanian smock shirt. A piece of traditional folk clothing. White homespun linen. Embroidery and cutwork on the bib, collar and cuffs: really lovely work with flowers and circles on netting. Pleat detail. Ruched decorative detail across the shoulders. Fastens at the collar with a button an loop and at the cuffs with double loops and buttons. Cuffs turn back to show the embroidery.

A wonderful piece of folk clothing to treasure and wear. Traditionally menswear and worn over trousers.

Measures: 23” underarm seam to seam, 16 1/2” across the shoulders, 9” arm opening from shoulder to underarm, 25” sleeves, 44” long from shoulder to hem.

Condition: Freshly laundered. Great overall condition. Missing button in the left cuff.
