C.1930s Slovakian Indigo linen block print skirt. This is a piece of traditional folk clothing and would have had a small apron worn over the front. Pleated at the back. There is a front panel of indigo cotton which has a small
opening and then ties to fasten. A lovely contrasting band of block printed linen at the waist.
Measures: 33” waist, 26” long
Greta condition. There is white a 2 1/4” cotton trim inside the hem and this has some discolouration and marks.
The traditional way to wash these skirts is to put inside some tights and tie the end. This keep the pleats in place. I’ve tried this and it mainly works really well, although the pleats will not be perfect.
This will be sent carefully folded in half, to fit in a box and therefore it will need a be reshaped a little and hung.
