Antique 1800s French Fencing Jacket Nubuck Linen RARE

Antique 1800s French fencing jacket. A very rare find. Found in France: was told it came from a museum of fencing. Nubuck with brown linen. silver metal domed buttons up the front, neck and cuffs. Wonderful scratch and slash marks throughout from the tip of a sword.

A wearable piece of sport clothing history.

Measurements:

•19” underarm to underarm

•15 1/2” across the shoulders

•6 3/4” from shoulder to underarm

•24” sleeves

•23” long from top of shoulder to linen waist

Condition:

•Good but used overall condition.

•Scratch marks throughout

•One small slices hole on lower front

•Some staining to the nubuck and dry patch areas

•Water mark and rust stain on lower back of linen

•Two small holes on upper left linen shoulder

•Other slight marks on the linen

•Leather strap which fastens between the legs is broken with most of it missing
