Antique 19th century French theatre or opera costume. 18th century style frock coat. The cotton has lovely patina including colour run and some fading. Embellished with silver metal ribbon trim and lace trim on the cuffs. Fully lined in cotton.

A wonderful antique treasure, grateful wearing and also lovely to display.

Measurements: 17 inches under under arm, 15 and three-quarter inches across the shoulders, 7 1/2 inches from shoulder under arm, 24 inch sleeves, 33 inches long in the body from neck to hem.

Condition: this has been hand washed with cold water and a gentle detergent. As you can see, it has lots of discolouration. There is one small section where the seam is broken on the underarm but this could be easily closed and is about half an inch. The lining has some damage as shown.
