French 1940s Workwear Trousers Grey Stripe Coutil Cotton Repaired Patched Darned Chore

A truly exceptional pair of c.1940s French workwear trousers by” L’Ideal”. Grey striped coutil cotton (which is like a very durable ribbed fabric) with suede knee patches which I’ve never seen before. Metal button fly . Two main pockets at the hips and one at the waist. Many repairs: patches, darns. Such beautifully creative repairs: they are full of character and a real treasure.

Measurements: 30” - 31” waist (due to cinch tab at the back), 13 1/2” rise, 27” inside leg

Condition: freshly laundered. These have a lot of damage and repairs. There are also some small stains. Please inspect the photos and ask any questions you may have.
